  • Ragdolls are best known for their docile temperament, large size & stunning blue eyes.  It is perhaps the most easy-going of breeds.
  • As the name Ragdoll implies, Ragdolls tend to go limp when picked up.  Some are so floppy that they are difficult to hold.
  • The Ragdoll is super sweet, loving, forgiving and gentle. They are very considerate of their human families and they carefully avoid scratching or biting.
  • Ragdolls enjoy being with their human family members.  They will greet you at the door, follow from room to room just to be close and sleep in your bed.
  • They are very well behaved and want to please their families. Scratching of furniture rare.  They are very intelligent and easily trained.  Some even love to play fetch.
  • The voice of the Ragdoll is soft and musical.  They seem to know that humans prefer quite talk and purring.
  • The personality is so very human at times that I find it almost scary.  They know when you are sad, sick or happy and respond accordingly. (Our female Luv Dove actually cries tears and trembles when I cry.)
  • Ragdolls are low maintenance social cats. They are low shedding, rarely get hairballs or have matting of the coat.
  • The Guinness Book of World Records lists the Ragdoll as the Largest domestic cat.  Males can exceed 20 pounds.
  • The coat is moderately long and silky.  Brushing of the coat is usually done more for the cats pleasure than for upkeep.
  • Ragdolls are very good with other animals, children, the elderly and disabled.
  • Ragdolls tend to be floor cats and not to be jumpers.
  • They are strictly indoor cats as they do not protect themselves from danger.  They lack the self protective skills to survive outdoors.
  • The main goal of a Ragdoll is to love it's human family and constantly let them know just how loved they really are.
  • Overall the Ragdoll is an excellent choice for anyone who is looking for a gentle, loving, low maintenance, lower energy cat.
  • Ragdoll fact:  All Ragdoll kittens are born pure white and develop their color & size over a 3-4 year period
